Abstract

Introduction. This study examines the level of information literacy among students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, class of 2021. The purpose of this study is to determine the students’ level of information literacy and to compare their levels of information literacy based on Ellis’s theory.

Data Collection Methods. This study is a quantitative descriptive study. The data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, and questionnaires, while the sampling technique used by the researcher in this study was probability sampling, with a sample size of 131 students.

Data Analysis. The analysis used statistical techniques and was comparative in nature, aiming to compare students’ knowledge levels regarding information-seeking behavior patterns.

Results and Discussion. The results of this study indicate that the overall average score (Grand Mean) of 3.12 falls into the high category because it is within the range of 2.50–3.25. A comparison of the information literacy levels of students in the History of Islamic Civilization program showed a score of 3.12, classified as high, while the overall average for the Library Science program was 3.39, classified as very high.

Conclusion. It can be concluded that the information literacy level of students in the Library Science program is higher than that of students in the History of Islamic Civilization program.
