Evaluasi Program Kelas Menulis Komunitas Kanot BU di Banda Aceh Terhadap Literasi Informasi Peserta
Abstract
Introduction. This study aims to evaluate the Kanot Bu community writing class program on information literacy. The evaluation and information literacy aspects include the form of program activities, impacts on information literacy, changes in how to access information, feedback from participants and community members, awards and recognition, and obstacles faced.
Data Colection Methods. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were five participants and three community members selected using a purposive sampling technique.
Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
Result and Discussion. Based on data found in the field, the Kanot Bu community has made efforts to strengthen the culture of information literacy through writing. The results of the study indicate that this program resulted in a positive view of writing activities from participants and improved their critical thinking skills in searching and accessing information using it in their writing. However, there were several obstacles faced by participants, namely limited time, difficult access to the location, and low levels of confidence in the participants' writing abilities.
Conclusion. Therefore, this program is recommended to be maintained and developed to reach more participants in strengthening information literacy.
